5 Ways To Cut Down On Screen Time
And stop obsessively checking your phone.
During the pandemic, it has become easier than ever to spend way too much time on our phones. Whether it’s to read the news, check for updates on the COVID-19 vaccine, or scroll through social media, many of us obsessively reach for our phones every few minutes. On top of that, we have additional screen time because of Zoom meetings and other computer-based work.
So if you’re looking for ways to give yourself a break from it all, here are a few things that may help.
- Set a phone “curfew.”
This may sound a little silly, but it can make a huge difference. Once I started turning my phone off at night, I noticed that I was less stressed out and slept better. Start by turning your phone off half an hour before bed, then build up to an hour, and so on. If you can avoid turning your phone on first thing in the morning, that can be helpful as well.
2. Set limits on social media usage.
Another way to cut down on your screen time is to set time limits on some of your apps, for example Instagram or Twitter.
