I agree! I used to read those types of articles when I first joined Medium, but eventually I realized that few of them contained very original ideas (not speaking for all of them, some of them were genuinely useful, but generally speaking). My personal opinion is that there aren't really tricks to getting ahead here, it's really just a question of trying to write the best stories you can and finding a community of other writers who you can support and who will support you in turn!
