I really enjoyed reading this! Honestly I wish more names were gender neutral - it's never quite made sense to me why some names are considered masculine and others feminine. Especially since feelings about it can change with time. For example, the name Ashley historically was a man's name, but nowadays it's almost always given to girls.

Also, I'm really sorry that you had to deal with such crappy people in high school. Most of all your teacher! What a horrible thing to talk about, that he tackled someone simply because he didn't think they should be wearing a dress??
