I think I read a psychological study a while back that supported this idea. I can't remember exactly what their finding was, but basically we're (in general) more attracted to those who share certain facial characteristics with us. A really interesting topic. I totally agree about the photo of Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath, they do look almost like family members rather than husband and wife!
