What Are 10 Of Your Worst Travel Experiences?
Time to focus on the negative for this travel prompt…
It’s easy with travel articles to want to focus on all the beautiful things you’re seeing, amazing food, and fun experiences. And I’ve been lucky to have quite a few of those lately. But you all know that I also like to include some of the less idealized aspects of my travels too. Luckily, Linda Ng has created a travel prompt on that very topic!
What’s your greatest travel pet peeve?
This will probably come as no surprise, given my commentary on this topic in other articles, but my biggest pet peeve while traveling is probably having to deal with too many other tourists — particularly ones who don’t follow the rules and customs of the place they’re visiting. It’s so frustrating to see people disrespecting and in some cases even damaging historic sites. I also HATE when people endanger wildlife, often all for the sake of a selfie.
What’s your worst hotel encounter?
I stayed at a hotel in a coastal town in Washington several years back that was a bit awful. It was dirty (and having a clean room is one of my only real requirements for a hotel) with cigarette burns all over the carpet. Additionally, there weren’t any restaurants in…
